Comedy shows are a rare occurrence on Hilton Head Island.
Rock N Ribs Music and BBQ Fest is attempting to rectify that with the Rib-Tickler Comedy & Music Showcase on Friday, October 20th at 9:30 pm at Coligny Theatre in Coligny Plaza. The event will feature local musical funnyman Campfire Tyler followed by nationally-touring comedian Sarah Tiana.
Sarah Tiana is originally from Calhoun, GA (go Braves), but has been working as a professional stand-up comedian and writer in Los Angeles since 2003. She was most recently a staff writer on Lights Out with David Spade. Her first stand-up special 44 debuted in October 2018 on Comedy Central and she finished second place in the first season of Roast Battle on Comedy Central in 2016. An avid sports buff, Tiana and Rob Riggle host the popular podcast Riggle’s Picks, which is based on the NFL segments on FOX of the same name.
We Love You, Mrs. Bevins. “What can I say, it’s the greatest thing I can do for my country,” says Tiana of her interactions with our troops, “We can all use our talents to give back. The ‘I’m not good at anything’ attitude didn’t build America.”
This year’s comedy show is a first-of-its-kind for Rock N Ribs, which is now in its 2nd year.
“We were looking at the variety and types of events that we could incorporate into the festival’s schedule,” says organizer Lee Lucier, “and we recognized that comedy is very underrepresented amongst the vast entertainment offerings on Hilton Head Island. We hope that attendees appreciate our attempt at bringing new and exciting art forms to our community, all while supporting a great cause!”
Rock N Ribs Music and BBQ Festival at Coligny Plaza on October 19-22, 2023 will include multiple events, both ticketed and free, over four days for connoisseurs, as well as, casual fans of food, music, and COMEDY! The festival will benefit Second Helpings and the Carl Ruiz Foundation.
