1. November 22-24:
Enjoy a festive Thanksgiving wagon ride as we marvel at the fall colors along with the abundant plants and wildlife in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. Cookies and refreshments are provided before the tour. $18 per adult and $16 for ages 12 and younger. 2. November 24:
Start your Thanksgiving off on the right foot with a fun 5K race! The Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot will take place on Thursday morning at 8am. This is a family-friendly event, so bring the whole crew out for some Thanksgiving Day fun. www.islandreccenter.org/events/trot.
3. November 24-26:
The Stan Smith Thanksgiving Tennis Academy takes place from 9 a.m.-noon. Spend the mornings with Stan Smith, former US Open and Wimbledon champion and US Olympic men’s tennis coach. 4. November 24:
The Palmetto Dunes Resort hosts a Thanksgiving Buffet at Centre Court. The buffet features fall salad, charcuterie board, carving station with roasted strip loin, carved turkey breast, sausage cornbread stuffing, pumpkin and pecan pie, a Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar, cookie decorating station for kids and more! $65 for adults and $30 for kids which includes tax and gratuity. The 19th Annual Fishing Tournament takes place at 10-11:30 a.m. Fish for bass, bream and catfish at Fish Island in the Sea Pines Forest Preserve. 9. November 25:
Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina hosts a day-after-Thanksgiving “Santa & Shopping Day” with specials and sales throughout the harbour shops and restaurants. Kids’ activities take place from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. including train rides along with holiday music. Bring the kids and grandkids to meet Santa, listen to holiday classics and shop for special gifts. Santa arrives at noon aboard a fire truck at the Neptune Statue for children to share their Christmas list and take photos. The perfect place to spend the holiday season with your entire family as Harbour Town will be bustling with activities and live entertainment!
