We look forward to fall every year and to the return of couples and couples’ groups to the Island to play pickleball.
In September and October, Palmetto Dunes experienced a tremendous increase in participation in both pickleball clinics and round robins. During the morning hours, pickleball players packed all eight of our dedicated courts. Many of these players originally learned to play pickleball at Palmetto Dunes. Now, they have returned for their annual pilgrimage to enjoy the many outdoor activities the Island offers.
Pickleball now ranks up there with tennis and golf as a must-do activity. We have a great mix of beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate programs, so no matter your level of play, we offer something for everyone.
Those who have not played pickleball may be intimidated by the free-for-all nature of most drop-in programs. We encourage you to come to one of our clinics designed especially for beginners. We will teach you everything you need to know, from effective stroke dynamics to court positioning and shot placement.
As always, we highly recommend that you play in one or more of our round robins, which follow our clinics. They reinforce what you have learned and meet new friends. We have a good selection of paddles, balls and pickleball clothing, as well. Courts and equipment are available for rent throughout the day.
