Come see America’s symbol soar over Harbour Town this Fourth of July.
The Sea Pines Resort is throwing a big celebration for the holiday including a parade, live music, and fireworks to mark America’s 250th anniversary. A special part of the event is a rare bald eagle flying over, starting from the famous Harbour Town Lighthouse.
Visitors can look forward to a beautiful holiday with a lively Harbour Town parade, fun games and carnival activities, live music under the Liberty Oak, and fireworks above the Harbour Town Lighthouse and Calibogue Sound. The events are open to both resort guests and the public.
The highlight of the day is at 8:15 p.m. when Lincoln, a well–known bald eagle from the American Eagle Foundation, takes off from the top of the Harbour Town Lighthouse. Lincoln is famous for appearing in Budweiser ads and at Philadelphia Eagles games. He will fly over Harbour Town and glide toward the 18th green of the Harbour Town Golf Links. Lincoln is a popular figure at patriotic events and adds a strong, American touch to the Lowcountry’s well–known celebration.
The fun starts at 8:30 a.m. with the Fourth of July Parade around Harbour Town.
The parade has colorful displays, music, and lots of red, white, and blue. Guests are encouraged to decorate bikes, wagons, strollers—and even dogs—in the colors of the flag. This year, the parade is led by Woody the Clydesdale from Sea Pines’ Lawton Stables.
After the parade, the Fourth of July Carnival fills the Harbour Town lawn with classic games and activities for kids, making it a great spot to hang out all day.
As the sun sets, Harbour Town becomes the main stage for the evening. Live entertainment includes the popular Gregg Russell Fourth of July Concert at the Liberty Oak Tree. This is a long–time tradition at Sea Pines Resort, and Russell performs at 8 p.m.
The event ends with fireworks at 9 p.m., lighting up the Harbour Town Lighthouse and Calibogue Sound.
The atmosphere is filled with food, music, and a festive harbor mood to make the grand finale special. On Saturday afternoon, July 4, public parking will be available from 3 to 11 p.m. in certain lots along Greenwood Drive. Attendants will guide people to free shuttles that go to and from the Harbour Town Yacht Club.
