Celebrate Summer at the 36th Annual HarbourFest at Shelter Cove Marina
Hilton Head Island’s beloved summer tradition, HarbourFest, returns for its 36th year at Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina , promising a season filled with family-friendly entertainment, vibrant fireworks, and coastal charm. Running from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, this free festival is a highlight for both locals and visitors seeking memorable summer experiences.
A Season of Entertainment and Activities
HarbourFest kicks off over Memorial Day Weekend (May 23–26, 2025) and continues nightly through the summer. The festival features a variety of attractions, including arts and crafts, carnival games, and face painting. Children can delight in bounce houses and train rides around the marina promenade on fireworks nights. Local vendors offer a range of food and merchandise, enhancing the festive atmosphere.
Live Performances by Shannon Tanner and Cappy the Clown
A staple of HarbourFest, singer-songwriter Shannon Tanner performs two family-friendly shows at 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM on select evenings. His performances span from Memorial Day Weekend through mid-August, with additional shows during Labor Day Weekend. On Thursday nights, Tanner teams up with his Jimmy Buffett tribute band, The Oyster Reefers, for the Parrot Palooza concert series, running from June 12 to August 21.

Adding to the family fun, Cappy the Clown entertains children with face painting, balloon animals, and glitter tattoos. She is available from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays throughout the summer and during Labor Day Weekend.

Spectacular Fireworks Displays
The centerpiece of HarbourFest is its dazzling fireworks shows, lighting up the sky over Broad Creek. Scheduled for Tuesday nights from June 3 to August 19, with a special Independence Day show on Friday, July 4 these displays begin after dark and are a must-see. Attendees are reminded that drones are not permitted during the fireworks.
