Strange things can happen on the pickleball court, but one of the strangest things happened this week.

I put four players on the court to play a doubles match in our afternoon round robin. One of the players introduced himself and then introduced his partner as “Dick from Minnesota.” One of the opponents, Steve, announced that he was from Minnesota as well and inquired where Dick resided in the state.
Long story short, Dick and Steve came from the same town, played in the same pickleball club and same senior golf league – and never met before!
This was a crazy coincidence for sure. The real takeaway is that pickleball at Palmetto Dunes is a great way to meet friendly people. Locals mix with Island guests seamlessly around this crazy game that’s taking the country by storm.
If you haven’t tried pickleball, you should.
I encourage you to take one of our clinics, and to play in one or more of our pro-supervised morning or afternoon round robins. We have four beginner clinics each week. We also have special clinics for those who want to elevate their game further.
A round robin follows every clinic. Make sure you sign up for both! You won’t be disappointed, and you may walk away meeting someone who will make your day a little brighter.
