During the day the sun blazes down on the beaches. At night a cool breeze rolls through making Hilton Head’s temperature just perfect. So if you’re looking for something fun to do in the evening, or late into the night, check out some of these great restaurants, bars and clubs that offer everything from tasty cocktails to live performances by comedians, musicians, DJs and more.
The Jazz Corner
Named as one of the “Top 100 Great Jazz Rooms,” in the world by DownBeat magazine, the Jazz corner has been open and entertaining Hilton Head Islanders for 15 years.
It started with the late Bob Masteller, a musician and music historian, and his wife, who paired with the current business partners, Barbara and Charlie Swift. Originally working in Sea Pines, Masteller came to Hilton Head when Jazz still hadn’t been popularized on the Island. Open nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., The Jazz Corner offers a full service bar and restaurant with live music every night. They host different events, including the most recent, “Jazz for All Ages 2nd Annual Festival,” benefiting the Junior Jazz Foundation here on Hilton Head. If a quiet relaxing night with fantastic food, and amazing music is what you need to unwind at the end of your day at the beach, The Jazz Corner is the place for you.
Tiki Hut Barefoot Beachfront Bar
Located at the Beach House next to Coligny Beach Park, the Tiki Hut is a fun, typical vacation bar, filled to the brim with beachy, tiki decor, beautiful views, great drinks and live entertainment. Being right outside of the Beach House, the Tiki Hut has access to great volleyball courts and the beach. It is one of the few places that you can legally drink on the beach.
Each night brings new live music and events to the beachfront bar. They do have a menu, but because the bar is very casual and right on the beachfront, all meals are served in to-go packaging and it is mainly bar food. At night there are tiki torches to help light up the hut, and live music plays from the time they open to the time they close. There is always something going on at the Tiki Hut, including their monthly Full Moon Party, a fun and silly celebration of the full moon. All the waitress’ wear multi colored tutus during this party. The Tiki Hut is the perfect Hawaiian-inspired getaway for both young and old.
Poseidon Rooftop Bar
Opening in December of 2014 next to the remodeled Shelter Cove Community Park, Poseidon is still very new to Hilton Head and yet it has already made a name for itself when it comes to nightly entertainment. Open as a restaurant and bar during the day, Poseidon serves up some of the freshest seafood on Hilton Head, and at night becomes one of the most popular clubs.
Aimed toward a younger crowd, Poseidon’s Rooftop Bar is open every day at 4 p.m. with different activities every night. Sunday is a more relaxed night at Poseidon, with Local Spin Night, where local DJs spin their mixes. Monday is focused on food and beverages. Tuesdays give great views of the fireworks set off over Broad Creek for Harbourfest. Wednesday is Coastal Country Night, filled with line dancing and drinking. Thursday nights have live regional bands playing. Finally, on Friday and Saturday there are live bands and a DJ dance party. Poseidon has dress requirements, as some clubs do—no baseball hats, loose or baggy clothing, or skull caps are allowed. Dress is to be resort casual and staff may use their discretion on what kind of dress is appropriate. Happy hour is from 4 – 7 p.m. every day. VIP service is available.
Daniel’s Steakhouse Tapas Bar and Nightclub
Daniel’s is a very unique restaurant on Hilton Head. While there may be numerous steakhouses and tapas bars scattered across the island, Daniel’s combines the two with inspired gourmet cuisine from around the world, made with locally-sourced ingredients.
While most know what a steakhouse is, few people understand what tapas really are. Tapas are small appetizer dishes that are meant to be shared. Everyone gets to try a little bit of everything. When the dinner crowd slows, Daniel’s transforms into a nightclub filled with loud music and dancing. With its modern, yet warm decor and lighting, Daniel’s creates a very interesting atmosphere. Daniel’s offers a ladies night on Wednesday evenings. Miami night is on Thursday, filled with Latin dancing and music. There is also VIP service to those who wish it.
