Hilton Head Public Service District believes in environmental stewardship.
The district was honored with the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence. Only organizations that demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and protecting our natural resources receive the award. Hilton Head PSD is the first public service district in South Carolina to receive this award, and they are very proud of it!
To reach certification, Hilton Head PSD went above and beyond to review its operations and make improvements to better protect the environment. They updated their stormwater management plan, created an energy efficiency plan, and installed solar panels on two of their buildings. All of these efforts have helped Hilton Head PSD save money while also reducing its impact on the planet.
Hilton Coleman General Manager of Hilton Head PSD says they will continue to look for ways to reduce their impact on the planet and save money for customers. Hilton Head PSD was the first public service district in South Carolina to receive the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.
