This is an advanced “yellow ball” clinic. To qualify, players must demonstrate advanced skills and fundamentals including groundstrokes, serves, depth, spin and control on a full 78 foot court. This clinic will focus on weapon development, transitioning between offense and defense, adding pace and spin, and direction of shots. Public Tennis (PTI) offers tennis clinics and introductory play opportunities for children, adults, and adaptive athletes. We make tennis fun! Pre K/K division play Friday nights at Crossings Park. 1st grade and older play Saturdays at Chaplin Park. Practice locations are at the discretion of team coaches.
Divisions include: Pre K/Kindergarten, 1st/2nd grade, 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, 7th/9th grade
Kick off the Spring on the pitch in the largest youth sport program at the Island Rec!! Teams will be formed and assigned to volunteer coaches, who will coordinate practice days and times and play in age-division games weekly!
Program led by Island Rec Athletic Staff and volunteer coaches for teams. Those volunteering to coach have priority on making 1 player request besides their child in the registration process. Requests to be with 1 other person/coach can be made but cannot be guaranteed in the interest of creating balanced teams for competition.

Get your “kicks” in early and often in our introductory developmental soccer program. Kids will spend each weekly session learning the basics of ball control, dribbling, shooting, passing, throw-ins. We will spend the first few sessions working on individual skills and progress to gameplay the last few sessions.
Program is led by Island Rec Athletics Staff members and any interested volunteer coaches who would like to help teach skills.
Please wear/bring: shin guards, rubber-cleated soccer shoes
SeaFood Fast Adventure Camp

Sailing and Rowing Center
Under the guidance of two Master Naturalists, children will explore the delicate balance of our ecosystems while immersing themselves in the natural world. Activities include fishing, crabbing, cast netting, and kayaking, all aimed at fostering a love for nature and a commitment to sustainability.
We recommend bringing a light snack, water bottle, and sunscreen. Please keep a towel and perhaps a change of clothes in your pick-up vehicle for the ride home. Plan on your child being wet! We will hose them off for ya so they don’t track pluff mud all throughout you vehicle :).

Join us for our Inaugural Youth Flag Rugby Season!
Come learn your new favorite sport and the fastest-growing sport in the world. With the USA winning a medal in the summer Olympics and superstar Ilona Maher bringing more awareness to the game, rugby is taking off like never before and provides a community for the rest of your life no matter where you go. Members of Hilton Head Rugby Club, led by retired pro Alex MacDonald and USA Rugby legend Mark Lambourne, are certified coaches through PLAY RUGBY USA. They will be teaching a fun and basic curriculum designed for individual and team growth that kids across the country are learning and playing to get better every day!
Please bring/wear: Water bottle and cleats. We will provide jerseys and flags

The training sessions Mar-May will consist of conditioning, skills assessment, and play calling. *Once the season starts in July, practices will be T, W, Th and games on Saturdays.
Practices take place at Barker Field. Home games will be played at HHIHS stadium. The Gator football program will return to tradition in 2025. This youth contact program has been on Hilton Head Island since 1969. With our return, we will be going back to our traditional colors (green and yellow). In addition to developing football skills and techniques there will be a strong focus on teaching sportsmanship, teamwork, and life skills. Many coaches with varying levels of playing and coaching experience will help guide these young men.
Please bring/wear: Cleats, practice pants and shirt. The program will provide all game day wear (ie jersey, pants, helmet, shoulder pad).

New students must pay for a uniform. Through this program, you will learn self-confidence, a mixture of cardiovascular endurance, strength training, and flexibility exercises. This will improve reflexes and coordination while increasing strength and stamina. Overall fitness will be achieved.
