The City of Hardeeville, SC announced on Friday that it will soon welcome a Buc-ee’s travel center to Exit 8 on I-95 to Hilton Head.

Buc-ee’s representatives will collaborate with the city on development plans, which are currently in their early stages. The timeline for the project aligns with the South Carolina Department of Transportation’s I-95 Widening and Exit 8 Redevelopment Project.
Buc-ee’s has become a must-visit destination for road-trippers and locals alike throughout southern states, earning a devoted fan base along the way.
Unlike your typical pit stop, Buc-ee’s offers far more than the usual convenience store staples. Their in-house culinary director curates a menu of mouthwatering hot foods, indulgent sweet treats, and unique snacks that keep customers coming back for more. Add to that a massive merchandise lineup featuring iconic Bucky the Beaver-themed items, and you’ve got something special. From colorful Buc-ee’s coolers and Hawaiian shirts to candles, lotions, and even Bucky onesies (yes, we grabbed one!), there’s something for everyone.
But there’s one thing that truly sets Buc-ee’s apart from the competition—its restrooms. They’ve actually won the award for Best Restrooms in America, adding an unexpected reason to make Buc-ee’s part of your trip.
When it comes to food, Buc-ee’s delivers in a big way.
Here’s a list of their top 10 must-try menu items, including jerky, breakfast tacos, potato chips, fudge, roasted nuts, sausage kolaches, barbecue, banana pudding, Reuben sandwiches, and their famous Beaver Nuggets. Naturally, we couldn’t resist the challenge of trying them all to see if the Buc-ee’s hype holds up.
At the brisket sandwich station, chefs pull fresh slabs of brisket straight out of the oven, slicing and piling the tender meat onto sandwiches right in front of us. Pair it with freshly made Beaver potato chips and dark chocolate caramel fudge.
Of course, you can’t visit Buc-ee’s without trying their legendary Beaver Nuggets. These sweet, crunchy corn puffs are a delightful blend of kettle corn and Captain Crunch—pure snacking perfection. The garlic beef jerky (selected from an impressive 13 jerky flavors) and roasted nuts were equally tasty.
For early risers, Buc-ee’s breakfast doesn’t disappoint. Start your morning with a bucket of coffee, breakfast tacos, or their sausage pepper jack kolaches. You’ll leave satisfied and ready to hit the road.
Whether you’re in it for the food, the quirky merch, the award-winning restrooms, or just the adventure of trying it all, Buc-ee’s is more than a gas station—it’s a destination.
The Hardeeville Buc-ee’s will feature the chain’s signature selections, including an extensive variety of snacks, freshly prepared food, beverages, and regionally-inspired merchandise and gifts.
For many, it’s not just a gas station—it’s an experience. An official opening date for the location has yet to be announced.
