If you have been down to Harbour Town, you have seen the ongoing construction.
A crane as tall as the iconic lighthouse sits by the water. But, the construction has nothing to do with the lighthouse. One of Hilton Head’s favorite eateries is getting an extreme makeover. Read about the plans for the Quarterdeck posted in a press release from the Sea Pines Resort below.
The Sea Pines Resort is excited to announce the complete redevelopment of The Quarterdeck restaurant.
This includes a new rooftop oyster bar offering 270-degree views of the famed Harbour Town Yacht Basin and Calibogue Sound.
The new vision, created by internationally recognized design firm Hart Howerton, will feature a
two-story restaurant with a bar and dining area on the first floor and a rooftop oyster bar where
guests can enjoy views of Harbour Town, the 18th hole of the legendary Harbour Town Golf Links
and Calibogue Sound. A casual, walk-up market on the ground level will serve as a place to grab
a quick bite to go or to stock up on provisions for the day. The addition of a boardwalk will direct pedestrian flow to the market and pier.
The plans for the boardwalk create a gathering spot in this prime waterfront setting.
“This new restaurant will be a cornerstone of Harbour Town and a desirable dining venue on Hilton Head Island,” said Steve Birdwell, president of The Sea Pines Resort.
The restaurant is scalable in the front and back of the house, allowing operations to
respond to seasonal demand. Flexible glass-wall systems and high ceilings throughout the rooftop
oyster bar will allow 270-degree, unimpeded views and provide cover from the summer sun and
comfort during inclement weather.
Careful planning allows continued access to the Harbour Town Lighthouse, watersport activities and the fuel dock throughout the construction.
Opening is anticipated prior to the spring 2022 season.
