The Hilton Head Humane Association (HHHA) has been a beacon of compassion for animals since its incorporation in 1976.

From humble beginnings with space for just 29 dogs and 15 cats, HHHA now cares for over 2,500 animals annually, providing essential medical care and shelter.
As a no-kill shelter, they strive to eliminate euthanasia for all healthy and treatable animals. HHHA focuses on reducing animal overpopulation through spay/neuter programs and supporting pet owners to prevent the relinquishment of their beloved animals. Every animal adopted through is spayed or neutered, furthering their mission to combat overpopulation.
Programs That Make a Difference
- Feral Cat Program (est. 1994): Free trap-neuter-release services for feral cats, offering humane population control at no cost to the community.
- Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Services (est. 2010): Supporting low-income residents with free spay/neuter services and resources to help them keep their pets. Learn about HHHA’s Spay and Neutering Clinic HERE.
- SNAC Partnership (since 2011): The creation of a high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter clinic serving a 10-county area in South Carolina and Georgia.
Haven and Adoption Services
At HHHA, every animal is treated with care, respect, and love. From expert medical attention to exercise and socialization, their priority is the well-being of every pet. Their adoption team thoughtfully matches families with animals that fit their lifestyles, ensuring a lifelong connection. And if the need to return an animal arises, HHHA welcomes them back with open arms. Learn how to adopt your new fur baby HERE.
