Visitors have been coming to Hilton Head Island for decades for a relaxing vacation with great food, entertainment and family friendly activities.

1. Shelter Cove Towne Centre and Community Park
Shelter Cove Towne Centre has become a big shopping destination on the island, with multiple boutiques and brand name stores, along with amazing places to eat. Poseidon, arguably the most popular seafood restaurant of the season, boasts great food and a fun rooftop bar. Not to mention it’s right across the street from Shelter Cove Community Park.

2. Hilton Head Dolphin Cruise and Nature Tour
This family friendly activity may cost more, but with guaranteed dolphin sightings on every excursion it is well worth it. Drifting down Hilton Head’s Broad Creek, you and your family are bound to see multiple species and take in some amazing views of the Island. Just be sure everyone wears sunscreen out on the boat!

3. Coastal Discovery Museum
This museum is a great place for the family to visit since there is no age limit on fun! Come here to learn about the wildlife, history and traditions of the Lowcountry and its surrounding areas, by experiencing it first hand at the Coastal Discovery Museum located at Honey Horn. The museum spans 65 acres and has different gardens, wildlife viewing stations and even school-related programs so your kiddos can learn while they have fun!

4. The Sandbox
This immersion discovery museum aims to teach younger children science through play. Families are welcome to join in and learn along with their children inside this great museum. The Sandbox hosts various events all summer long, as well as throughout the rest of the year, to help engage children in learning and fun since, as you’ll learn at this museum, the two are far from exclusive.

5. Pirates Island Adventure Golf
Enjoy a themed mini golf course for ages three to 93 years old. Focusing on pirates and treasure, Pirates Island Adventures sets itself apart from other mini golf ranges around the Island. A great thing about Pirates Island Mini Golf is that is right next to Hilton Head Diner, one of the only classic themed diners on the island. It’s a great time for families with awesome diner food to boot.
