During the day the beaches are crowded, sand is everywhere and the sun blazes down, but at night a cool breeze rolls through making Hilton Head’s temperature just perfect, and after a long day on the beach, nothing sounds better than dancing the night away at one of Hilton Head’s best night bars or clubs. So if you’re looking for something fun to do in the evening, or late into the night, check out some of these great restaurants, bars and clubs that offer everything from tasty cocktails to live performances by comedians, musicians, DJs and more.
The Comedy Club Of Hilton Head at Pelican’s Point
Full bar service is available with amazing drinks, such as the strawberry jalapeno margarita and more. They also offers some appetizers and freshly made dinner as well. Tickets for general admission are $18, while VIP seating is $22. When you make reservations for both dinner and a show you receive 10% off your dinner and show tickets. This comedy club in Pelican’s Point is also the home of Mentalist Bill Gladwell, who seems to read your thoughts and can stun his audience members with how much information he knows. The mentalist may be rated G, but most shows do feature crude, or adult, humor.
The Jazz Corner
It started with the late Bob Masteller, a musician and music historian, and his wife, who paired with the current business partners, Barbara and Charlie Swift. Originally working in Sea Pines, Masteller came to Hilton Head when Jazz still hadn’t been popularized on the Island. Open nightly from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., The Jazz Corner offers a full service bar and restaurant with live music every night. They host different events, including the most recent, “Jazz for All Ages 2nd Annual Festival,” benefiting the Junior Jazz Foundation here on Hilton Head. If a quiet relaxing night with fantastic food, and amazing music is what you need to unwind at the end of your day at the beach, The Jazz Corner is the place for you.
The Electric Piano Bar
The only dueling piano bar on Hilton Head, The Electric Piano Bar is one of the perfect over 21 nightly entertainment and dinner venue. Since it’s huge on audience requests and participation, you won’t just be stuck sitting in your seat and watching a show, but rather, you’ll be apart of it, and each night there’s a different show.
Wednesdays are for live music by famous pianists from all around the country performing their favorites. Thursday is saved for the Simpson Brothers. While not the dueling piano night, it is ladies night, filled with classic rock and top 40 hits to dance the night away and keep you coming back for all the fun. Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for the most popular show, and what the bar is known for: dueling pianos. Each week two pianists come from around the country ready to face off in the ultimately entertaining piano duel. Most songs that are played are those requested by the audience. The Electric Piano bar is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Tiki Hut Barefoot Beachfront Bar
Located at the Beach House next to Coligny Beach Park, the Tiki Hut is a fun, typical vacation bar, filled to the brim with beachy, tiki decor, beautiful views, great drinks and live entertainment. Being right outside of the Beach House, the Tiki Hut has access to great volleyball courts and the beach. It is one of the few places that you can legally drink on the beach.
Each night brings new live music and events to the beachfront bar. They do have a menu, but because the bar is very casual and right on the beachfront, all meals are served in to-go packaging and it is mainly bar food. At night there are tiki torches to help light up the hut, and live music plays from the time they open to the time they close. There is always something going on at the Tiki Hut, including their monthly Full Moon Party, a fun and silly celebration of the full moon. All the waitress’ wear multi colored tutus during this party. The Tiki Hut is the perfect Hawaiian-inspired getaway for both young and old.
Poseidon Rooftop Bar
Opening in December of 2014 next to the remodeled Shelter Cove Community Park, Poseidon is still very new to Hilton Head and yet it has already made a name for itself when it comes to nightly entertainment. Open as a restaurant and bar during the day, Poseidon serves up some of the freshest seafood on Hilton Head, and at night becomes one of the most popular clubs.
Aimed toward a younger crowd, Poseidon’s Rooftop Bar is open every day at 4 p.m. with different activities every night. Sunday is a more relaxed night at Poseidon, with Local Spin Night, where local DJs spin their mixes. Monday is focused on food and beverages, and Tuesdays give great views of the fireworks set off over Broad Creek for Harbourfest. Wednesday is Coastal Country Night, filled with line dancing and drinking, while Thursday nights have live regional bands playing. Finally, on Friday and Saturday there are live bands and a DJ dance party. Poseidon has dress requirements, as some clubs do—no baseball hats, loose or baggy clothing, or skull caps are allowed. Dress is to be resort casual and staff may use their discretion on what kind of dress is appropriate. Happy hour is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day. VIP service is available.
Daniel’s Steakhouse Tapas Bar and Nightclub
Daniel’s is a very unique restaurant on Hilton Head. While there may be numerous steakhouses and tapas bars scattered across the island, Daniel’s combines the two with inspired gourmet cuisine from around the world, made with locally-sourced ingredients.
While most know what a steakhouse is, few people understand what tapas really are. Tapas are small appetizer like dishes that are meant to be ordered in bulk and shared with your dinner partner. Everyone gets to try a little bit of everything. When the dinner crowd slows, Daniel’s takes all the tables and chairs out, and transforms into a nightclub filled with loud music and dancing. With its modern, yet warm decor and lighting, Daniel’s creates a very interesting atmosphere. Of course, Daniel’s offers a ladies night on Wednesday evenings, but also a Miami night on Thursday, filled with Latin dancing and music, something quite unique for Hilton Head. There is also VIP service to those who wish it.
