Seek and ye shall find Christmas lights on Hilton Head Island!
Whether you’re looking for some shops decked in lights, a park perfect for a few family photos, a nativity scene or Santa Claus, you’re sure to find it on Hilton Head. The island might night have the cold December weather, but there’s no shortage of the holiday cheer. So if you’re on Hilton Head this holiday season, be sure to check out these twinkling spots!
Shelter Cove Towne Centre
Dove Street Festival of Lights is finally back and it’s lighting up the shops at Shelter Cove Towne Centre. A canopy of lights stretch over Shelter Cove Lane as the stores decorate in their own festive way – with snowflakes, nutcrackers and their own sets of lights.
Compass Rose Park
If you’re exploring the island by bike, be sure and stop by Compass Rose Park off of Pope Avenue. Hilton Head might not have snow but these twinkling lights make this stretch of the island seem magical. And it’s the perfect place to stop for a photo!
Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue Station #3
In 2007 the firefighters started decorating the station at 534 William Hilton Parkway and each year it’s steadily grown, dazzling as many as 14,000 vehicles full of people. With all kinds of bright lights and whimsical displays, the firefighter’s Christmas lights really capture the holiday spirit. So if you’re driving around the island, be sure and cruise by the station to see the firefighter’s Christmas lights. (Photos provided by the Fire Station).
South Beach Marina Village
A line of festive inflatables will guide you into South Beach’s Marina Village, where you’ll find light-covered canopies and decks and, at the center of it all, a little baby Jesus surrounded by wise men. Amid all the shops is a small nativity scene, the perfect place for kids to learn the nativity story.
Harbour Town Marina
Not only do you get to see the lighthouse and paths by the shops decked in décor at Harbour Town, but at night you can see twice the amount of lights – those out and their reflection in the water. And if you’re looking for some fun lights that kids will enjoy, there are plenty of animated snowmen, trains and Santas around the shops they’ll love.
Shelter Cove Marina
Shelter Cove Marina might not have as many lights as South Beach or Harbour Town, but there’s still some festive decor out around this time of year. Who doesn’t want to take a photo with King Neptune in Santa’s hat? And don’t forget to look out on the water, because a few people decorated their boats docked in the marina.
The Village at Wexford
Wooden toy soldiers will greet visitors as they enter the center and an assortment of different wreaths will greet customers as they enter different shops and restaurants. In November, the Village at Wexford had their annual Tour of Wreaths and all the shops got out their best holiday door décor to get ready for Christmas, so if you’re looking for some fun holiday foliage, be sure to stop by!
