We look forward to fall every year and to the return of couples and couples’ groups to the Island to play pickleball.
In September and October, Palmetto Dunes experienced a tremendous increase in participation in both pickleball clinics and round robins. All eight dedicated courts were jammed in the morning hours with pickleball players, many of whom originally learned to play pickleball at Palmetto Dunes and have returned for their annual pilgrimage to enjoy the many outdoor activities the Island offers.
It is rewarding to see that pickleball is ranked up there with tennis and golf as a must-do activity. We have a great mix of beginner, advanced beginner and intermediate programs, so no matter your level of play, we offer something for everyone.
For those who have not played pickleball, or those intimidated by the free-for-all nature of most drop-in programs, we encourage you to come to one of our clinics designed especially for beginners. We will teach you everything you need to know, from effective stroke dynamics to court positioning and shot placement.
As always, we highly recommend that you play in one or more of our round robins, which follow our clinics, to reinforce what you have learned and meet new friends. We have a good selection of paddles, balls and pickleball clothing, as well. Courts and equipment are available for rent throughout the day.
Enjoy pickleball in a fun, supportive environment at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort! Also, check out our reviews on TripAdvisor at Palmetto Dunes Tennis and Pickleball Center. For more information, as well as lessons and clinic times, visit palmettodunes.com or call (866) 242-3169.
