Fourth of July

This year, Independence Day starts with a bang on a Friday morning and the Island-wide celebration lasts all weekend.

Weaving around Shelter Cove Harbour and ending with a post-race party, the 23rd Annual Time Warner Cable Hilton Head Firecracker 5000 Road Race and Family Fun Walk kicks off at The Mall at Shelter Cove on July 4 at 8 a.m. A portion of the proceeds benefits Strive to Excel and The Hilton Head Runners Club. In Bluffton, children of all ages (and pets) are invited to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers and more for a march down Calhoun Street during the Annual Bluffton Fourth of July Children's Parade starting at the Church of the Cross at 10 a.m. Uncle Sam, Abraham Lincoln and Robert E. On July 4, don't miss the Independence Day Celebrations at three Island locations – Shelter Cove Harbour, Harbour Town and over Skull Creek at Hudson's and Charley's Crab. All three spots will have an array of live entertainment, food and beverages available before fireworks light up the nighttime sky. Arrive early and don't forget to bring chairs, blankets and plenty of water.
